Ladies’ Night

© Barbara S. Garriel
Lyrics and Music by Barbara S. Garriel

I don’t want a fancy Jag.
Don’t want a strand of pearls.
Need a night all to myself to go out with the girls.

We may go to the movies, catch ourselves a show.
Won’t star Steven Segal, Bruce Willis, G.I. Joe.
It’ll be about love and romance.   Guaranteed we’ll cry.
We’ll bring a box of tissues, but in the end she’ll get her guy.

Thank my stars it’s ladies’ night, not a minute too soon.
Need a dose about twice a month and four in the month of June.
Oh, yeah, it’s ladies’ night, we can talk about our men.
Compare….. recipes, next month do it all again

I don’t want a Prada dress.  Don’t want a sable mink.
Need to be with my best friends. Leave the dishes in the sink.

Paint our lips. Swish our hips. Put on our party shoes.
Dance all night. Raise the Fahrenheit. No taming of these shrews.
Cozy up with Ben and Jerry, each have our own spoon.
Nothing like ice cream and chocolate to make grown women swoon.

Thank my stars it’s ladies’ night, not a minute too soon.
Need a dose about twice a month and four in the month of June.
Oh, yeah, it’s ladies’ night, we can talk about our men.
Compare….. recipes, next month do it all again.

I don’t want some therapy, an expensive glass of wine.
I hunger for some time to talk with my friends and I’ll be fine.

Tease our hair. Play Truth or Dare. Wear our cowboy boots.
Talk about Brad and Denzel, Johnny Depp, ‘cause they’re so cute.
We can have our palms read, take tai chi, or parasail.
Go to a karaoke, then to Chippendales.

Thank my stars it’s ladies’ night, not a minute too soon.
Need a dose about twice a month and four in the month of June.
Thank the gods it’s ladies’ night, we can talk about our men.
Compare… recipes, next month do it all again.

I don’t want a Prada dress.  Don’t want a sable mink.
Need to be with my best friends.
Leave the dishes in the sink.
Leave the dishes in the sink.
Leave the dishes in the sink.
