Plastic Money

Lyrics and Music by Barbara S. Garriel

Sorry lady, no more credit here.
You haven’t paid your bills now, in more than a year.
We regret to inform you, it really brings a tear.
But we won’t take your plastic money, in this place here.

Credit cards used to save me when it came time to buying things
Dresses and handbags, necklaces and rings.
But now they tell me, “Your Mastercard ain’t no good.”
I hope I’m hearing poorly or just misunderstood.

Went to my favorite restaurant for the best food I’ve known.
But as they take my Amex and head for their phone
I know it won’t be long now til I’m in their kitchen
Washing loads and loads of dishes for my credit card sins.

Credit cards used to save me when it came time to buying things
Cell phones and ipods, guitars and washing machines.
But now they tell me, “Your VISA card ain’t no good.”
I hope I’m hearing poorly or just misunderstood.

Excuse me Madam, you’ll have to come with us.
Please don’t start to cry now or make a big fuss
It seems that you’ve been spending a lot more than you make.
And so your plastic money, we’re gonna have to take.
We’re gonna have to take.
No more plastic money.
